Here are the steps to hook up Google Analytics to your website:
- Sign up for a Google Analytics account: If you don’t already have a Google Analytics account, you will need to sign up for one. Go to the Google Analytics website and click on “Start for free” to create a new account.
- Set up a new property: Once you have created your account, you will need to set up a new property for your website. Click on the “Admin” tab, and then click on “Create Property” to create a new property.
- Add the tracking code to your website: After you have created a new property, you will need to add the tracking code to your website. Go to the “Tracking Info” section of your property, and then click on “Tracking Code.” Copy the tracking code and paste it into the header section of your website.
- Verify that the tracking code is working: After you have added the tracking code to your website, you will need to verify that it is working correctly. Go to the “Real-Time” section of your Google Analytics account and then visit your website. If the tracking code is working correctly, you should see a “1” next to “Real-Time” in your Google Analytics account.
- Set up goals and conversions: Once you have verified that the tracking code is working correctly, you can set up goals and conversions in your Google Analytics account to track specific actions on your website, such as purchases, form submissions, or downloads.
By following these steps, you can hook up Google Analytics to your website and start tracking valuable insights about your website’s performance and user behavior.
