Troubleshooting WordPress Errors
WordPress is an and excellent and extremely powerful piece of software. In fact, it is likely one of those most popular content management systems in use powering over 34% of the internet according to numbers released this year (2019) and it’s not just for small businesses either; The White House, The University of New York, The Village Voice and Vogue Magazine are just a few major sites utilizing WordPress.
With it being so common, we work on WordPress sites every day troubleshooting all sorts of different issues and malfunctions, most of which are caused by either hacking or plugin compatibility issues. We also build most of our new web designs with WordPress software and accompanying plugins.
If you are having trouble with your WordPress website, we can quickly help in accessing what could be causing the problems you are experiencing and help you fix them, in most cases, within an hour.
Oftentimes unknown errors such as WordPress’s “white screen of death” will cause you to not only experience downtime, but you will also lose access to the administrator control panel and it might seem impossible to figure out what is going on with the web site. What you’ll need to do is get past the front-end interfaces and get access into the database.
Most issues which arrive with WordPress will require making changes (while inside the database) to either plugins, configuration settings, users or other settings which can no longer be reached from the administrative control panel yet can be modified and altered when directly inside the database area. With access to your web hosting control panel, these changes can be implemented from behind the scenes without needing to login to the site.
Database access can be complex and dangerous where you could wind up wiping out critical data or create a far larger problem then you started with, so database work should be carried out carefully and correctly. Never work on a database if you do not have a great deal of experience doing so – most importantly, without taking a full backup of it before making changes.
